L’occitane is one of my favorite skin care brands. I love their products and most of them work wonderfully to me. I have been using their products from the Peony collection since the past six to seven months and they have worked really great so far. So, today I am sharing a few thoughts about these amazing products.
Peony Perfecting cream
The moisturizer comes in a beautiful jar which looks so gorgeous like a perfect decor piece for your vanity. I don’t know if it happens to everyone but I always struggle finding the right moisturizer.I have combination/oily skin and most of the moisturizers even the ones made for oily skin makes my face look shiny after a few hours. L’occitane Peony perfecting cream has been working really well,no shiny forehead by the end of the day.It smells amazing but not too overpowering. The scent is always important for me in a moisturizer. I like moisturizers with subtle floral scent which is exactly how the Peony perfecting cream smells. The cream is suited for all skin types,although I feel it would not give enough hydration for extremely dry skin. It’s neither too thick/creamy nor too thin in terms of consistency. Easily gets absorbed by the skin and doesn’t give you that oily look.The skin feels soft and smooth after each application. A couple of months after I started using this cream, my uneven skin tone was slowly gone and the skin looked a lot healthier. I am not the one who usually goes for the advertisements or claims they make for a particular product but with this one I have seen the results. This is my absolute favorite right now.
To list a few quick pointers-
- Easily absorbed by skin and makes skin feel soft.
- Provides necessary hydration & helps maintain your skin.
- Lovely floral scent.
- Expensive, but worth every penny.
- No breakouts.
The only downside is that it did not give me any radiance boost as stated on it’s description on the website.
Peony Perfecting Essence
This is a perfect serum to use with the Peony perfecting cream mentioned above.It’s light yet creamy enough for smooth application.The skin feels smooth every time I apply this one. It also give a matte finish to the skin ,which makes it a perfect base for make application. Packaging is adorable with a pump dispenser but I wish it came with a lid too. It has definitely helped me smooth out the skin imperfections(used along with the Peony perfecting cream) and I get a velvety soft skin after each use.
Pivoine Sublime CC cream
I don’t see this product on their website now, not sure if they have discontinued the CC cream but I thought I would write a review anyway that way if the product comes back , this review could be helpful.
I bought this product even before I bought the moisturizers from the Peony Collection. It’s an amazing product! It comes in a tube form.It looks like a white sunscreen but if you wipe out your skin after you have applied this, it comes off like the color of a foundation. Surprizing isn’t it?.
If you are a stay-at-home mom like me and don’t like using make-up all the time, this CC cream is perfect for you. It instantly brightens up the face and also gives a light coverage.Yet, it doesn’t make you feel like you are wearing make-up at all. Also, it has a broad spectrum SPF 20 which is always a plus. They come in two different tones, light and a medium. I went for the medium one for my tan skin tone. Applying this can be a little tricky, it does not go on smoothly and not easily blend-able. Once blended in the skin just appears fresh and brighter.This has become my go to product now, it hardly takes a couple of minutes to get ready because I just need to use this one product after I moisturize my skin plus a lip balm and I am ready for the day!
Pivoine Lip balm
They have a few options for lip balm in this collection. I ended up getting the transparent and a tinted one in the color Rose Plum. The transparent one is moisturizing yet not sticky and the best used under a Lipstick. Even though it works great, it is not a must have product for me. I would not be re-purchasing this one.There are many other options in the market that do exactly the same with a much lower price.
The tinted lip balm is the one I am really happy about. I reach for this one all the time and it has replaced all my lipsticks in the past few weeks. It is so pigmented but still hydrating enough and also stays all day. I also love the color on this , it would suit most of the skin tones.I highly recommend this tinted lip balm.
I am not sure if they are still available but if they are you should definitely give a try.
I am in totally love with this entire collection. L’occitane has also brought out two new products in the Pivoine collection which I am looking forward to try soon.
