Hello again!

We had yet another day filled with fun and laughter at the Pumpkin patch. I remember one year, I searched the internet for the best pumpkin patch around me but then got caught up with other things and finally ended up not going to one before they closed for the season.I am happy that we went to one this year.

I chose the Spina Farms pumpkin patch because it’s an actual farm and the set up there gives you a traditional vibe. It was so huge that my legs started hurting by the time we were about to leave. The toddler likes everything Halloween so she was so excited to be going to see pumpkins. There is something else that excited her more, the little petting zoo. She will never miss a chance to pet one of the farm animals.

Entry to the pumpkin patch was free, but you would have to pay for all the other fun things and pumpkins of course. There was petting zoo,hay ride, train ride , a pony ride, lots and lots of pumpkins and spooky cut outs which was a favorite thing to look at for our little girl.

Petting zoo had quite good number of animals including goats, sheep, chickens, ducks, guinea pigs and my personal favorite rabbits. They all looked good and the rabbits were so soft and furry. My daughter liked them so much that she spent most of her time there and she even picked one of them and wanted to cuddle with it. She also went after a duck saying ” I got you duck, I got you…” making sure that it gets back into the water kept in a bucket, where it actually was before.

Just walking along the pumpkins laid out on the bed of hay was fun. She went looking at the spooky cut outs placed here and there. Even though butterflies were sure fluttering inside her tummy as she reached closer to the weirdest ones 🙂 she had to look at each one of them. There were haystacks setup like a maze , the kids loved jumping and running around it.

There was this giant pumpkin structure with carving which was a favorite with all kids.It was like a pumpkin play house and best place to hide from the scorching sun. There was a built in bench and for me it was a hide away to take some rest for a good five minutes. A windmill, an  old truck and the tractors definitely added some traditional farm touch. We did not take the hay ride because we were too exhausted to walk up to that point.

There were mobile restrooms , hand wash station just outside the petting zoo which was great and much needed. They also had a stand which sold a few snacks, water and ice cream.
