Halloween 2015

Hello Everyone ,

I would like to share some Halloween fun we had this year. This was toddler’s first Halloween where she was completely into the idea of wearing costume , trick or treating and whimsical things. She was so excited looking at the costumes and other Halloween  stuff at every store we visited. We went to Target every now and then, just so she could see all the spooky, ghostly decor items displayed at the store. She could spend the entire time looking at those.

I chose her costume this year and she was a Lady bug. She loved wearing her costume from the very moment it arrived in the mail.

A few days before Halloween we decorated this pumpkin with colors and glitter. Actually, this was an activity at her school and  she enjoyed decorating it, but on our car ride back home it rolled all over the place and the paint got messed up as it was not completely dry. So, I washed off all the colors and decided to re-decorate. It’s such a fun activity to do with your toddler and I love activities like this.Having said that, there is  something that’s more important for you to have while working with paint & glitter, PATIENCE. Kids love making a mess and the paint and glitter combination gets them so excited! Anyway, the end result was worth it all.We had a beautifully decorated pumpkin for our fall decor.

The toddler also enjoyed pumpkin carving activity. She drew all over it using markers and the shaped stencils from the carving kit that we picked up from the dollar store. The kit was good and served the purpose. Here is the toddler busy in pumpkin decorating/carving well, the toddler way. Finally, my husband did all the carving and this is how our pumpkin looked.Yes, there was no way we could carve a mouth in that little thing. 🙂

Then, there was dress up day at school and a mini trick or treat session. It’s always fun to see the little kids in adorable costumes.

On the day of Halloween, we went to the Children’s Halloween Party at the Youth Activity Center. It was such a great event we enjoyed every minute we were there. They had bouncing houses, some fun games and balloons. The best part was the trick or treat station which look like a tiny little houses in a row and kids had to go knock on the tiny window and someone inside will open it and hand out candies. It was just like the actual trick or treating  and it was great for younger toddlers who do not have experience with trick or treating.

In the evening,we put on the costume once again and went for the actual trick or treating, just a couple of houses.

That was pretty much it for our Halloween this year.
